NAF Airstrikes Kill ISWAP Commanders, Destroy Hideouts in Sambisa Forest
The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai has neutralised two senior commanders of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and several other fighters during a precision airstrike on terrorist hideouts in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State.
Security sources said the early morning operation targeted insurgent positions at Yuwe, within the Sambisa general area, leading to the elimination of key commanders identified as Saddam and Saleh Garin Kago. Two other fighters, Hussaini Ubaida and Ba Alayi Benbem, were also reportedly killed in the strike.
The operation, conducted at about 6:08 a.m. on Friday, followed confirmatory Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions that identified structures believed to be commanders’ hideouts and logistics warehouses in the Yuwe axis.

According to the sources, upon confirmation of the targets, military aircraft departed base and engaged the locations using precision-guided munitions.
“On reaching the objective area, the aircraft acquired and engaged the selected targets with precision-guided stores onboard,” a source familiar with the operation disclosed.
Post-strike battle damage assessment indicated that the identified command hubs and storage facilities were effectively destroyed, significantly degrading the operational capacity of the террорист group within the Sambisa corridor.
Efforts are ongoing to ascertain the identities of additional casualties from the operation.
The military high command of Operation Hadin Kai reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling terrorist leadership structures, disrupting supply chains, and denying insurgents safe havens.
It stressed that the theatre command would continue to work in synergy with the Air Component and other security agencies to intensify operations, consolidate recent gains, and restore lasting peace in the North-East.
