Troops Repel ISWAP Attack, Neutralise Several Terrorists in Baga
Troops of Sector 3 under Operation HADIN KAI have successfully repelled an early morning attack by insurgents of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on a military base in Doron Baga, Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State, killing several terrorists during the encounter.
Security sources disclosed that the terrorists launched the assault at about 2:12 a.m., triggering a fierce exchange of gunfire with troops stationed at the base.
The intense firefight reportedly lasted for nearly an hour, with soldiers maintaining tactical superiority throughout the engagement until the attackers were eventually repelled.

According to the sources, several insurgents were neutralised during the clash, while troops recorded no casualties or loss of equipment. The attack was fully subdued by approximately 5:50 a.m., after which troops secured the base and surrounding areas.
Security officials, however, warned of the possibility of follow-up attacks and urged troops and other security operatives in the area to remain vigilant and sustain heightened security measures.
Meanwhile, troops have intensified clearance operations and patrols around the area to prevent any regrouping of fleeing terrorists and to forestall further threats to communities and military installations in the region.
