Army Announces Successful Candidates for Short Service, Orders Resumption for Training
The Nigerian Army has announced the list of successful candidates for the Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 29/2026, directing them to report for officer cadet training at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry in Jaji, Kaduna State.
In a public announcement, the Army said the successful candidates are expected to report to the Officer Cadet Training Wing of the school on Friday, March 27, 2026, for the commencement of their training programme.
According to the notice, the full list of successful candidates has been published online on the official recruitment portal of the Nigerian Army for public access.
The Army also issued a set of guidelines for the candidates, stating that all successful applicants must report to the training facility with required documents and personal items necessary for the training period.

Among the mandatory items listed are writing materials, original educational credentials, and a printed copy of the online application slip bearing the candidate’s passport photograph. Candidates are also required to bring specified clothing and training kits, including plain white vests, royal-blue shorts, white canvas trainers, track suits, shirts, trousers, socks, and black cover shoes.
Other items include a dark-coloured lounge suit, national dress or suits for official engagements, a rubber-strapped wristwatch, swimming trunk, football boots, bed sheets and pillowcases, blanket, and a pressing iron.
Female candidates are expected to report with additional items such as black low-heel cover shoes, lounge skirts, tight shorts, and trouser suits.
The Army further directed serving military personnel who were successful in the selection process to present their release letters and passes duly endorsed by their commanders or commanding officers.
It warned that any successful candidate who fails to report to the training school on the scheduled date would automatically forfeit the offer, which would then be allocated to candidates on the reserve list.
The Army clarified that reserve candidates should not report to the training school unless officially contacted in the event of emerging vacancies, adding that no vacancy will be available for reserve candidates after April 20, 2026.
The Direct Short Service Commission is one of the recruitment pathways through which the Nigerian Army enlists qualified professionals and graduates into its officer corps to strengthen manpower capacity across various fields.
