Military , Police Arrest 5 Suspected Kidnappers in Gombe, Taraba
Security operatives have arrested five suspected kidnappers in separate intelligence-led operations in Gombe State and Taraba State as part of ongoing efforts to curb kidnapping and related criminal activities in parts of northern Nigeria.
In Gombe, operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to the Gombe State Command, acting on credible intelligence, arrested three suspects on March 10 at about 10:00 p.m. in a joint operation with local hunters.
Police sources identified the suspects as Mohammed Abubakar, 29; Mohammed Bello, 23; and Mohammadu Ali, 25, all residents of Galda Village in Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State.
According to the sources, the suspects were allegedly planning to carry out a kidnapping operation in an unspecified location in Bauchi State when they were apprehended.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the planned crime, while police authorities have launched further investigations to identify other members of the network and prevent potential attacks.

In a related development, troops of Operation Whirl Stroke under Sector 3 arrested two other suspected kidnappers in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Security sources said the operation followed actionable intelligence, prompting troops to move into Arufu Village on March 11 at about 9:00 a.m., where the first suspect was apprehended.
Although the suspect initially denied involvement in criminal activities, he later confessed to participating in kidnapping incidents that occurred in February, according to the sources.
Further investigation led troops to arrest an accomplice in Chinkai Village within the same local government area.
Items recovered during the operation included two mobile phones, a locally made knife, and the sum of ₦21,520.
The suspects and the recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Security agencies say the arrests highlight ongoing coordinated efforts by law enforcement and military forces to dismantle kidnapping networks and improve security across affected communities.
