Military Foils Terrorist Attacks at Azir Bridge, Banki in Borno
Troops of the Operation HADIN KAI have successfully foiled coordinated terrorist attacks on military positions at Azir Bridge and Banki, following intense engagements in the early hours of Thursday.
The attacks, which occurred on March 13, targeted troops deployed in Sector 2 at Azir Bridge and Sector 1 in Banki, according to a statement issued by the Joint Task Force (North-East) under Operation Hadin Kai.
Military authorities said the terrorists advanced in large numbers in what appeared to be a coordinated attempt to overrun the military positions but were met with swift resistance from the troops.
The soldiers, demonstrating what officials described as superior tactical awareness and combat readiness, launched well-coordinated spoiling attacks that disrupted the insurgents’ assault formations and forced them into disarray.

The engagements were further reinforced by effective close air support from the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, which provided additional firepower and contributed significantly to repelling the attackers.
Military sources said the combined land and air response compelled the terrorists to retreat after failing to penetrate the defensive positions.
The military also dismissed reports circulating on some online platforms suggesting otherwise, describing them as misleading propaganda.
According to the statement, troops remain firmly in control of both locations and continue to dominate the operational environment with sustained offensive actions against terrorist elements.
The Joint Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying operations across the North-East until terrorist threats are completely neutralized and lasting peace restored in the region.
Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the Media Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, reiterated that the troops remain resolute in their mandate to defeat insurgency and safeguard communities across the theatre of operations.
