The Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Professor Ayo Omotayo, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, peaceful coexistence and a shared commitment to national development as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid el-Fitr.
In a goodwill message marking the end of Ramadan, Professor Omotayo said the occasion goes beyond celebration, describing it as a period for reflection on the values that promote stability, harmony and national progress.
The message was conveyed in a statement signed by the Institute’s spokesperson, Dr. Samuel Osime.

He emphasised that the virtues cultivated during the holy month of Ramadan—such as sacrifice, discipline and compassion—should not be limited to the fasting period but should be sustained in everyday interactions and public life.
According to him, Nigerians must translate these values into actions that foster peace, strengthen social cohesion and drive collective development across the country.
“Eid is not only a time of celebration but also a moment for deep reflection on the values that sustain a stable and harmonious society,” he said.
The NIPSS Director-General expressed optimism that the spirit of Eid would inspire renewed commitment among citizens toward building a stronger and more united nation.
He also prayed that the blessings of the season bring joy, prosperity and a renewed sense of purpose to all Nigerians.
