NSA Ribadu Mourns El-Rufai’s Mother, Describes Her as ‘Remarkable Matriarch’
The National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has expressed condolences over the death of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, mother of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.
Ribadu, in a condolence message posted on his official Facebook page, said he received the news of her passing with deep sadness, describing the deceased as a matriarch who left behind enduring memories of warmth and motherly care.
He noted that he had shared moments with the late Hajiya Umma, recalling her kindness and supportive disposition, which he said would be remembered by those who knew her closely.

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Hajiya Umma El-Rufai, the matriarch of the El-Rufai family. I have fond memories of shared moments with her and her motherly care,” he stated.
Ribadu added that at such a moment of loss, words offer limited comfort, stressing that the grief of losing a mother is profound and deeply personal.
He extended his condolences to Nasir El-Rufai and the entire family, praying for strength and fortitude for them during the period of mourning.
The NSA also prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased’s shortcomings, asking Almighty Allah to grant her eternal rest in Aljannah Firdaus.
Hajiya Umma El-Rufai passed away on Friday, with family members and associates continuing to receive messages of sympathy from across the country.
