Musa Tasks AFIT Graduates on Innovation, Technology for National Security
The Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, has challenged graduates of the Air Force Institute of Technology to embrace innovation and technology as critical tools for strengthening Nigeria’s defence and security architecture.
Musa gave the charge at the institute’s 2nd, 3rd, and 4th combined convocation ceremony held in Kaduna, where degrees, diplomas, and special awards were conferred on deserving graduates.
Musa, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Richard Pheelangwah, the minister emphasised the growing importance of education and technological advancement in addressing evolving security challenges, noting that the future of Nigeria’s defence capabilities rests significantly on the knowledge and skills of trained personnel.

“The future of our nation’s technological advancement lies in your hands. Your knowledge and skills are vital to the security and progress of our country,” he said.
Musa commended the graduates for their academic achievements and urged them to uphold the values of discipline, professionalism, and dedication as they transition into their respective careers.
He noted that AFIT has continued to distinguish itself as a centre of excellence in technical and military education, producing highly skilled manpower that contributes to the development of Nigeria’s defence sector.
Earlier, the Commandant of the institute, Adeniran Ademuwagun, congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to remain committed to service, integrity, and national development as they embark on a new phase of their professional journey.
The convocation ceremony featured the conferment of degrees and awards on outstanding students, reflecting the institute’s sustained commitment to academic excellence, research, and capacity development in support of national security.
