Four Muslims Killed, 10 Missing After Plateau Attack, Says JNI
The Plateau State chapter of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has confirmed that four Muslims were killed, while ten others remain missing following a violent attack on Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area.
This was disclosed on Tuesday by the Secretary of JNI in the state, Salim Umar, in an official statement issued after an internal assessment of the incident.
According to the organisation, the figures emerged after thorough investigations and consultations with affected Muslim communities in the aftermath of the attack, which reportedly claimed a total of 28 lives and left several others injured.

“The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Plateau State Chapter, regrets to confirm the death of four Muslims and reports ten others missing following the recent attack on Angwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area,” the statement read.
JNI further revealed that some of the deceased victims have been identified at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), while the whereabouts of the ten missing individuals remain unknown. Families of the missing persons have reportedly had no contact with them since the incident, with their phone lines unreachable.
The organisation also confirmed that two injured victims are currently receiving medical treatment at JUTH, adding that it is maintaining communication with the affected families.
JNI extended its condolences to the bereaved families and urged the public to remain calm amid tensions.
“We condole with the parents and families of those who lost their loved ones and call on the public to remain calm. We also commend the efforts of the state government and security agencies in managing the situation,” the statement added.
