DSS Nabs Ammunition Courier, Disrupts Bandit Supply Network
Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have arrested a 25-year-old woman, Nafisa Usman, over her alleged involvement in supplying ammunition to bandits operating across parts of northern Nigeria.
Security sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended at a major motor park in Kano, where she was allegedly found in possession of 200 rounds of ammunition. The consignment was reportedly transported from Lafia in Nasarawa State and was en route to Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
According to the sources, the arrest followed actionable intelligence that tracked the suspect’s movements and activities, leading to her interception before the delivery could be completed.
Usman, said to be a native of Zango village in Kankara, was allegedly conveying the ammunition to armed groups operating within the Kankara forest, a known hotspot for banditry.
