Troops Nab ‘Fake Soldiers’, Kill 3 Terrorists in Plateau
Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, have arrested two suspected impostors dressed as security personnel and neutralised three terrorists in separate operations in Plateau State.
The Nigerian Army said the breakthrough followed a late-night operation in Dutse Uku,
Jos North Local Government Area, where soldiers responded to a distress call over sporadic gunshots in the community.
It was gathered that the troops intercepted two individuals clad in black tactical uniforms, allegedly posing as security operatives, who were actively involved in burning houses and instigating violence in the area.
The suspects were arrested and taken into custody, while two persons injured during the incident were evacuated to a medical facility and are said to be in stable condition.

Military sources said the arrest of the suspects has helped to debunk claims in some quarters alleging the involvement of security personnel in the unrest, noting that criminal elements have been exploiting military uniforms to perpetrate attacks and discredit the Armed Forces.
In a related development, troops deployed to Karem in Wase Local Government Area engaged suspected terrorists attempting to move through the area on motorcycles.
The insurgents reportedly fled under sustained military pressure, with three of them neutralised during the encounter.
The operation, according to the military, followed the deployment of additional counter-terrorism troops to volatile areas in the state, a move said to have significantly boosted operational effectiveness and response time.
The Army reiterated its commitment to restoring peace in Plateau State, warning that criminal elements and insurgents operating in the region would be decisively dealt with.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant and support ongoing operations by providing credible information to security agencies.
