Kano Police Rescue Abducted Boy, Arrest 3 Suspects, Recover Ransom
The Kano State Police Command has rescued a two-year-old boy abducted in Kano, arresting three suspects and recovering most of the ransom paid by the victim’s family.
Police authorities said the child, identified as Aliyu Aliyu Muhammad, was kidnapped on April 19, 2026, in Gwammaja Quarters, located in Dala Local Government Area, by unidentified individuals who later demanded a ransom of ₦1 million.
Despite the payment of the ransom, the abductors failed to release the child, prompting the family to alert the police.
Following the report, the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, ordered an immediate response, directing the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad to deploy intelligence and operational resources to track down the perpetrators.
Police investigations, supported by technical intelligence, led operatives to the suspects’ hideout within Gwammaja Quarters, where the child was found and rescued unharmed.
