NAF Trains New Intelligence Personnel to Enhance Counter-Insurgency Operations
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified efforts to strengthen intelligence-led military operations with the graduation of participants of Basic Intelligence Course 34/2026 from the Nigerian Air Force School of Air Intelligence (NAFSAINT), Makurdi.
The graduation ceremony, held on Friday, marked another step in the Air Force’s drive to enhance operational effectiveness through professional intelligence capacity development.
Representing the Chief of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Nnamdi Ananaba, the Director of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Ukpong, described the graduation as a significant milestone in the NAF’s commitment to producing highly skilled intelligence personnel capable of supporting national security objectives.
He stated that Nigeria’s evolving security environment demands well-trained and mission-oriented intelligence operatives to effectively support ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations across the country.

According to him, the course provided specialised training in intelligence operations, operational analysis, security support, and mission-focused capability development aimed at improving participants’ analytical, reporting, and decision-making skills.
Ukpong stressed the critical role of actionable intelligence in enhancing operational effectiveness and strategic decision-making within the military.
He urged the graduating personnel to uphold professionalism, discipline, integrity, teamwork, and continuous self-development in line with emerging technological advancements and contemporary security realities.
The Air Force said the graduation reflects the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to strengthening intelligence capacity development as a key component of intelligence-driven operations and national security management.
The NAF also reaffirmed its commitment to sustained investment in training institutions and human capital development to improve mission readiness and operational effectiveness against evolving security threats.
It added that proactive and precision-driven operations backed by credible intelligence remain central to ongoing efforts to restore peace, strengthen national stability, and create an enabling environment for socio-economic development across the country.
