Troops Kill Three Terrorists, Recover Arms in Zamfara
Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have killed three suspected terrorists and recovered arms and ammunition during a fighting patrol operation in Zamfara State.
The operation was carried out by troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks and restore security across the state.
Military authorities said the troops embarked on the patrol in the early hours of Thursday across Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji Local Government Areas to deny criminal elements freedom of movement within the area.
During the operation, troops reportedly encountered armed terrorists at Doumbourum Village, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.

A statement issued by the Media Information Officer of Operation Fansan Yamma, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, said the troops overwhelmed the terrorists with superior firepower, forcing them to retreat after suffering casualties.
The military confirmed that three terrorists were neutralised during the encounter.
Troops also recovered one AK-47 rifle, one machine gun, one locally fabricated handgun, seven rifle magazines and 571 rounds of ammunition from the scene.
According to the military, no casualty was recorded among the troops involved in the operation.
The latest operation forms part of sustained offensives by Operation Fansan Yamma against terrorists and other criminal groups operating within the North-West region.
The military described the operational gains as a reflection of the commitment and resilience of troops in ongoing counter-terrorism operations across Zamfara and neighbouring states.
It also urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible intelligence to enhance ongoing operations aimed at improving security in the region.
