Army, DSS, Police Arrest Suspected IPOB/ESN Informant in Anambra
A joint security team comprising personnel of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services (DSS), and local vigilante operatives has arrested a suspected collaborator of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN), in Anambra State.
Security sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended at about 12:00 p.m. on May 30 during a routine patrol along the Owerre-Ezukala axis in Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area of the state.
The operation was carried out by troops of Sector 5 under Operation UDO KA in collaboration with police personnel, DSS operatives, and members of local vigilante groups.

According to preliminary findings, the suspect is alleged to have been providing intelligence and advance warnings to suspected IPOB/ESN members regarding the movement and activities of security personnel within the area.
Following the arrest, the suspect was handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation, profiling, and necessary legal procedures.
Security sources stated that troops maintained an enhanced presence across the area after the operation to prevent criminal elements from regrouping and to sustain security within the community.
The sources reiterated the commitment of security agencies to ongoing coordinated operations aimed at combating criminal activities, dismantling support networks of armed groups, and ensuring lasting peace and stability across Anambra State.
