IGP Disu Appoints New Force Public Relations Officer
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu as the new Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force.
The appointment places CSP Iniedu at the head of the Force’s strategic communications arm, responsible for managing public information, institutional messaging, and engagement between the police and the public.
CSP Iniedu is a career police officer with experience spanning public communication, operational policing, intelligence management, institutional accountability, and administrative leadership. He hails from Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Academically, he holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Uyo. He has also undertaken advanced professional training in investigative interviewing, crime scene management, human rights-based policing, strategic communication, and intelligence analysis.
Before his elevation, he served as Head of the Complaint Response Unit (CRU) at Force Headquarters, Abuja, where he supervised public complaint handling and strengthened mechanisms for accountability and transparency within the Nigeria Police Force. He also previously served as Public Relations Officer at the Police College of Information Technology, Kobape, Ogun State, in addition to other operational and administrative postings across the country.
His appointment is expected to further shape the Force’s communication strategy, particularly in enhancing public trust, improving responsiveness, and reinforcing institutional transparency.
