FRSC Conducts Digital Promotion Exercise for 10,000 Officers
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commenced its 2026 promotion exercise for more than 10,000 personnel nationwide, leveraging advanced digital technology to ensure transparency, fairness, and efficiency in one of the largest career advancement exercises in the Corps’ history.
The exercise, supervised by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, involves the promotion of 10,005 personnel, comprising 3,597 Intermediate Rank Officers and 6,408 Junior Officers across the country.
According to the Corps, the promotion process is being driven by modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) platforms specifically deployed to guarantee credibility, inclusiveness, and equal opportunities for all eligible personnel.
The technology-driven approach is designed to eliminate administrative bottlenecks, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure that officers are assessed strictly on merit, competence, and performance.
The exercise commenced on June 14, 2026, across the Corps’ 12 Zonal Commands, with monitoring cameras deployed to oversee the process and ensure compliance with established procedures.
To further strengthen transparency and accountability, representatives of the Corps Marshal are supervising the exercise, while officials from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Federal Character Commission are observing the process in line with the FRSC Promotion Policy and the Federal Character Principle.
A major highlight of the exercise is the participation of personnel currently pursuing academic and professional programmes outside Nigeria.
Through the deployment of digital platforms, officers on foreign study programmes were able to take part in the promotion exercise remotely without interrupting their educational commitments.

The initiative, according to the Corps, reflects the determination of the Corps Marshal to ensure that no eligible officer is disadvantaged because of self-development activities or geographical location.
The FRSC said the promotion exercise aligns with the Corps Marshal’s vision of building a highly motivated, professional, and future-ready workforce where dedication, innovation, competence, and excellence are recognised and rewarded.
By prioritising career progression and personnel development, the Corps leadership aims to strengthen staff confidence, promote accountability, and encourage healthy competition within the organisation.
Since assuming office, Shehu Mohammed has championed a series of reforms focused on improving staff welfare, enhancing institutional capacity, and deploying technology to improve operational effectiveness and service delivery.
The successful conduct of the 2026 promotion exercise is being viewed as another milestone in the Corps’ ongoing transformation agenda and its commitment to institutionalising global best practices in human resource management.
Speaking on the exercise, the Corps Public Education Officer and spokesperson of the FRSC, Assistant Corps Marshal Osondu Ohaeri, said the promotion process underscores the Corps Marshal’s commitment to building a modern, digitally driven organisation that prioritises the welfare, aspirations, and professional growth of its personnel.
Ohaeri noted that the seamless integration of technology into the exercise ensured transparency and inclusiveness while enabling eligible officers, including those undergoing studies abroad, to participate without hindrance.
He added that the exercise serves as a reminder that professionalism, diligence, and dedication remain the pathways to career advancement within the Corps, while reaffirming the leadership’s resolve to build a workforce that is motivated, empowered, and equipped to deliver on the agency’s mandate of ensuring safer roads for all Nigerians.
The Corps added that it would continue to deploy technology and innovative management practices to enhance workforce development, strengthen operational efficiency, and improve service delivery nationwide.
