NAF Airstrikes Hit Terrorist Hideouts, Neutralise Insurgents in North-West Operations
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified its offensive against terrorists and armed bandits operating across the North-West, carrying out a series of precision airstrikes and intelligence-driven missions that targeted criminal enclaves and disrupted insurgent activities in the region.
The operations, conducted under the Air Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA Sector 1 between June 18 and 19, formed part of ongoing efforts to support joint military operations and deny criminal groups freedom of action within the theatre.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF aircraft successfully struck a confirmed terrorist stronghold following credible intelligence reports, degrading the operational capabilities of the criminal elements.

The statement further disclosed that in a separate intelligence-led mission around Kidandan, air assets tracked and engaged terrorists after positively identifying their movement within the area, resulting in the neutralisation of the targets.
Subsequent reconnaissance missions conducted over Fatika and Sabuwa reportedly confirmed the absence of further terrorist activity, while aerial surveillance operations continued in support of friendly ground troops and ongoing military activities across the region.
The NAF said the sustained air operations underscore its commitment to maintaining pressure on terrorist and bandit networks through coordinated intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and precision strike missions.
The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, reiterated the importance of synergy between air and ground forces in counterterrorism operations.
According to him, decisive air power achieves maximum impact when effectively integrated with surface operations.
The Air Force noted that it remains committed to deploying intelligence-driven air power in collaboration with ground forces to neutralise terrorists, protect civilians and restore peace and security across the North-West.
It added that ongoing operations would be sustained until terrorist and bandit networks operating in the region are dismantled.
