Addressing the gathering, participants underscored the importance of sustained cooperation among security agencies, traditional institutions and local communities in preserving the prevailing peace and preventing actions capable of undermining stability.
Discussions centred on strategies to consolidate existing security gains, promote peaceful coexistence between farming and herding communities, and create a secure environment that would enable farmers to carry out their agricultural activities without fear of violence or disruption.
As part of the initiative, fertilisers were distributed to farmers in the local government area to support agricultural production and encourage residents to maximise the opportunities presented by the improved security situation.
The intervention, according to organisers, forms part of broader efforts to boost food production, improve livelihoods and reinforce public confidence as the farming season progresses.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with security agencies by sharing credible information, reporting suspicious activities promptly and resolving emerging disputes through dialogue.
They expressed optimism that sustained collaboration among all stakeholders would further strengthen peace, enhance security and promote socio-economic development in Barkin Ladi and other parts of Plateau State under Operation Enduring Peace.
