Nigerian Army Graduates 25 Aviation Fuel Specialists
The Nigerian Army has graduated 25 personnel from the Aviation Fuel Handling and Management (AFHM) Course 2/26 to strengthening the operational capacity and safety standards of its aviation logistics.
The event held on Wednesday at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Kaduna, after completion of the three-month specialised training programme.
The course trained five officers and 20 soldiers drawn from the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport (NACST) in modern aviation fuel handling and management procedures to support the operational effectiveness of Nigerian Army Aviation.
The Commander, 71 Supply and Transport Brigade, Brig.-Gen. B. Yusuf, represented the Commander, Corps of Supply and Transport (CCST), Maj.-Gen. N.D. Shagaya, at the event.
The Commandant of AFIT, Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Kolade Ademuwagun, who was represented by the Deputy Commandant, Air Vice Marshal O. Ubadike, congratulated the participants on successfully completing the intensive training programme.

He commended the graduands for their resilience, discipline and commitment throughout the course, urging them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and safety in the handling and management of aviation fuel.
According to him, the knowledge and skills acquired during the programme should be applied to enhance the operational effectiveness of Nigerian Army Aviation.
He also encouraged the graduates to remain worthy ambassadors of the Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport by contributing meaningfully to the attainment of the Nigerian Army’s operational objectives.
The AFIT commandant noted that the successful conduct of the course underscored the enduring partnership between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force in developing critical aviation logistics capabilities.
The ceremony featured the presentation of certificates to the 25 graduates as well as awards to outstanding participants who distinguished themselves during the training programme.
The Aviation Fuel Handling and Management Course forms part of the Nigerian Army’s efforts to strengthen technical competence and improve safety, efficiency and operational readiness within its aviation logistics system.
