ICPC Arraigns FRSC Officer Over Alleged N4.31m Job Scam
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has arraigned a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, Mohammed Adamu Ndagiyapa, before the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Jabi, Abuja, over an alleged N4.31 million job racketeering scheme.
Ndagiyapa, a Marshal Inspector II with the FRSC, was docked on Thursday on a four-count charge bordering on receiving gratification and abuse of office by allegedly using his position to obtain financial benefits through fraudulent promises of employment.
According to the ICPC, the defendant allegedly received N3.26 million between January 2021 and December 2022 through his Stanbic IBTC Bank and First City Monumental Bank (FCMB) accounts from one Dauda Zira Gambo under the pretext of securing employment for the latter’s relatives in the FRSC.

The anti-corruption agency further alleged that Ndagiyapa also collected an additional N1.05 million from one Munda Babayo for the purported recruitment of her relatives into the Corps, bringing the total amount involved in the alleged scheme to N4.31 million.
The Commission said the offences contravene Sections 10(a)(ii) and 19 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000, and are punishable under the same law.
According to the ICPC, investigations revealed that the defendant allegedly presented himself as having the influence and capacity to secure employment opportunities in the FRSC by claiming close ties with senior officers of the organisation.
When the charges were read before Justice F.E. Messiri, the defendant pleaded not guilty to all four counts.
Following the plea, ICPC counsel, Leslie Iheduru, urged the court to fix a date for the commencement of trial.
Justice Messiri granted the defendant bail on the terms earlier approved under his administrative bail and adjourned the case until September 16, 2026, for the commencement of trial.
The ICPC reaffirmed its commitment to combating corruption in the public service, stating that allegations of abuse of office, job racketeering and other corrupt practices would continue to be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
