
Army, Police Deepen Partnership to Combat Emerging Security Threats
The Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency collaboration to enhance national security and tackle the country’s evolving security challenges.
The commitment was reiterated during a courtesy visit by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Iniedo, to the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Onyechi Appolonia Anele, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.
Speaking during the meeting, Colonel Anele said the increasingly complex nature of contemporary security threats demands closer cooperation among security and intelligence agencies. She stressed the need for sustained intelligence sharing, operational coordination, strategic communication and institutional support to improve the nation’s security architecture.

Congratulating CSP Iniedo on his appointment, the Army spokesperson said the Nigerian Army remains committed to strengthening its partnership with the Nigeria Police Force in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s command philosophy of transforming the Army into a more professional, adaptive, combat-ready and resilient force capable of operating effectively within a joint and multi-agency environment.
According to her, deeper collaboration between the two institutions will further enhance ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminality, while also boosting public confidence in Nigeria’s security agencies.
In his remarks, CSP Iniedo commended the Nigerian Army for its professionalism, sacrifices and operational successes in various joint security operations across the country.
He described the long-standing partnership between the Army and the Police as instrumental to improving internal security and called for stronger collaboration between the public relations departments of both organisations.
The Force spokesperson noted that closer cooperation in strategic communication would help counter misinformation, improve public awareness and promote a unified national security narrative.
The meeting concluded with both institutions reaffirming their shared commitment to sustaining and expanding inter-agency cooperation in support of the Federal Government’s efforts to strengthen national security.
