Police Arrest Six Suspected Internet Fraudsters, Recover Pistol, Laptops in Nasarawa
Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command have arrested six suspected internet fraudsters during a midnight raid on a hideout in Rugan Madaki, recovering a pistol, laptops, mobile phones and several Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards.
The operation, carried out by a patrol team attached to the Vintage Division at about 2:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 15, followed actionable intelligence on the activities of suspected cybercrime syndicates operating in the area.
According to police sources, the operatives stormed the hideout and successfully apprehended the six suspects without incident.

A search of the premises led to the recovery of one Makarov pistol, nine laptops, four mobile phones and multiple ATM cards believed to have been used in the suspects’ alleged cybercrime activities.
The suspects have been taken into custody along with the recovered exhibits as investigations continue.
Police authorities said detectives are working to establish the ownership of the recovered firearm, determine the extent of the suspects’ involvement in internet-related fraud, and ascertain whether they have links to other criminal activities.
The Nasarawa State Police Command said the suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
