Troops Rescue 13 Hostages, Recover 2 Vehicles in Zamfara Operations
Troops of the Joint Task Force (North West), Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued 13 kidnapped victims during separate intelligence-led operations in Zamfara State, thwarting planned terrorist activities in Anka and Kaura Namoda Local Government Areas.
The successful operations, conducted by troops under the Joint Task Force, also led to the recovery of two vehicles allegedly used by the fleeing terrorists.
According to the Media Information Officer of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, the first operation was carried out by troops of Sector 2 based in Bagega after receiving credible intelligence that armed terrorists were advancing on motorcycles towards Tungan Kudaduku in Anka LGA.
He said the troops, aided by real-time surveillance, swiftly tracked and engaged the terrorists in a firefight, forcing them to abandon their mission and flee under sustained military pressure.

In a separate operation at Ungwan Rogo in Kaura Namoda LGA, the military spokesman said troops acted on fresh intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area.
He explained that the troops made contact with the terrorists and engaged them in a fierce gun battle, compelling the criminals to retreat and abandon their captives.
The operation resulted in the rescue of eight additional kidnap victims, while two vehicles were recovered from the scene.
According to the statement, all 13 rescued victims have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for medical attention, profiling and other necessary support.
The Joint Task Force said its troops have continued to dominate the operational environment, maintaining sustained offensive operations aimed at denying terrorists freedom of movement and dismantling criminal networks across the North-West theatre.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying ongoing operations to restore peace and security across the region.
