Troops Arrest Four B’Haram, ISWAP Collaborators, Intercept 20 JAS Family Members in Borno, Yobe
Troops of the Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have arrested four suspected Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) collaborators in separate intelligence-led operations in Yobe and Borno states.
The operations, conducted on August 3, 2026, also led to the recovery of drugs, communication devices, logistics supplies and other items suspected to be linked to terrorist support networks.
In Yobe State, troops of 159 Battalion under Sector 2 conducted a cordon-and-search operation in Geidam following credible intelligence, resulting in the arrest of two suspected terrorist collaborators.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects allegedly supplied hard drugs and other logistics to Boko Haram terrorists, thereby facilitating their activities.
Items recovered from them included a large quantity of suspected Indian hemp, several mobile phones, power banks, scissors, knives, torchlights, lighters, cigarette rolls, Pregabalin capsules, Piscof syrup, identity documents, ATM cards and ₦14,530 cash.
Similarly, troops of Sector 3 Garrison, in collaboration with 242 Reconnaissance Battalion, arrested two suspected ISWAP logistics suppliers in Monguno, Borno State, at about 3:30 p.m. on the same day.
The operation followed sustained surveillance of suspected terrorist supply routes as part of efforts to disrupt insurgents’ logistics networks.
During preliminary interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to transporting food items and other supplies to ISWAP terrorists operating in Kwatan Dowoshi Village, Kukawa Local Government Area.

Recovered items included 11 cartons and 192 sachets of assorted biscuits, a carton of Peak milk, 10 mudu of sugar, nine bars of Viva soap, six headlamps, two bags and 16 rolls of sachet garri, three packs of lighters, two Tecno button phones, an assault knife, a charm belt, four prayer beads, six packs of herbal medicine and ₦6,600.
In a related development, troops of 222 Battalion (Main), while conducting a routine patrol along the Gezuwa axis in Konduga Local Government Area, intercepted 20 suspected family members of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad (JAS) terrorists.
The group comprised nine women, two men, eight female minors and one male minor.
According to the military, preliminary investigations revealed that the individuals had fled their enclave in Gezuwa following intensified military operations against the settlement.
The intercepted individuals have been handed over to the 21 Military Intelligence Regiment for further profiling and necessary action.
The military said all arrested suspects and recovered exhibits had been handed over to appropriate military intelligence units for further investigation and exploitation.
It said the operations underscored the effectiveness of its intelligence-driven approach to disrupting terrorist logistics, dismantling support networks and denying Boko Haram and ISWAP access to critical supplies.
The military further reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements operating in the North-East and urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing counter-terrorism operations and efforts to restore lasting peace and security in the region.
