Troops Hand Over 147 Recovered Livestock to Owners, Recover 3 Motorcycles in Sokoto
Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, conducting counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations in Sokoto State, have recovered 147 rustled livestock and three motorcycles allegedly used by terrorists for mobility.
The troops, according to a statement, acted on a distress call indicating that suspected terrorists were moving rustled livestock through the Shagari Local Government Area of the state.

Acting on the intelligence, the troops laid an ambush at a known crossing point in Horo Birni village.
On sighting the troops, the suspects abandoned the livestock and fled into the surrounding bush.
A follow-up sweep of the area led to the recovery of 147 livestock comprising 101 cows, 44 sheep and two camels.
The troops also recovered three motorcycles during an exploitation of the general area.
The recovered livestock have since been handed over to their rightful owners, the statement said.
