LSSTF Donates Protective Gear to NNS BEECROFT, Strengthens Security Partnership Ahead of Elections
The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has donated protective equipment to the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT as part of efforts to enhance security operations and deepen collaboration ahead of the forthcoming election period.
The donation was announced during a courtesy visit by the Executive Secretary of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, to the Commander of NNS BEECROFT, Commodore A. Adams-Aliu, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
During the visit, Dr. Ogunsan reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to supporting security agencies across Lagos State through strategic interventions aimed at improving operational capacity and boosting personnel welfare.
He disclosed that the LSSTF donated 50 ballistic helmets, 50 bulletproof vests and 100 raincoats to NNS BEECROFT, adding that other areas requiring support, identified during the engagement, would receive attention in due course.
According to him, the interventions are designed to bridge identified gaps within the state’s security architecture and strengthen the ability of security agencies to protect lives and property, particularly as Lagos prepares for a sensitive electoral period.

Dr. Ogunsan noted that the Trust Fund would continue to partner with security agencies to ensure they are adequately equipped to address emerging security challenges across the state.
Responding, the Commander of NNS BEECROFT, Commodore Adams-Aliu, expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund for the visit and the donation, describing the gesture as a demonstration of the state’s commitment to strengthening security operations.
He reaffirmed the Nigerian Navy’s commitment to sustaining close collaboration with government institutions, sister security agencies and other stakeholders in safeguarding national security.
The naval commander observed that the evolving security environment requires stronger coordination, regular stakeholder engagement and timely intelligence sharing to improve responses to threats, particularly within Lagos waterways and other maritime approaches.
Commodore Adams-Aliu said the partnership aligns with the vision of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, to maintain a highly motivated and professional naval force capable of protecting Nigeria’s maritime interests while contributing effectively to joint operations in defence of national sovereignty and internal stability.
The visit underscored the growing collaboration between the Lagos State Security Trust Fund and security agencies in enhancing operational readiness and reinforcing security across Nigeria’s commercial capital.
