Troops Foil Bandits’ Attack on Construction Site in Kebbi, Recover Three Motorcycles
Troops conducting operations under Operation CLEAN SWEEP IV have foiled an attack by suspected bandits on construction workers at Tsatsunbe village in Southern Kebbi State, rescuing the workers and recovering three motorcycles abandoned by the attackers.
The operation was conducted on Friday, August 14, 2026, following credible intelligence that armed bandits had launched an attack on construction workers operating in the area.
Acting swiftly on the tip-off, the troops mobilised to the location and engaged the attackers in a fierce gun battle.
The troops brought superior firepower to bear on the bandits, forcing them to retreat in disarray and abandon their motorcycles as they fled into the surrounding bushes.

During a subsequent exploitation of the area, the troops recovered three motorcycles believed to have been used by the fleeing attackers.
The security forces also successfully rescued the construction workers, who had taken cover in the bushes during the attack. The workers were subsequently escorted to safety and have since returned to their camp.
The successful intervention underscores the importance of timely intelligence and rapid military response in protecting civilians and critical economic activities in areas affected by banditry.
The operation also demonstrates the continued efforts of troops under Operation CLEAN SWEEP IV to deny criminal elements freedom of movement and disrupt their activities across Kebbi State.
