FRSC Promotes 7,472 Personnel to Deepen Operational Capacity, Professionalism
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has approved the promotion of 7,472 personnel comprising 2,134 officers and 5,338 marshals, in a major career progression exercise aimed at rewarding merit, strengthening professionalism and enhancing operational capacity.
The promotion, which forms part of the Corps’ human capital development programme, recognises the dedication, competence, discipline and years of service of personnel who have distinguished themselves in the discharge of their responsibilities.
According to the Corps, the elevation is not merely a change in rank but a call to greater responsibility, higher professional standards and improved service delivery to the Nigerian motoring public.
Under the new arrangement, Heads of Departments, Corps Officers, Heads of Special Units and Commanding Officers are to decorate the newly promoted personnel under their respective commands between Wednesday, August 26 and Friday, August 28, 2026.
The exercise will be conducted in accordance with the Administrative Instruction on the Decoration of Newly Promoted Officers and Marshals.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, described the promotion as both a reward for past performance and a responsibility for greater service.
He urged the newly promoted personnel to ensure that their new ranks translate into improved professionalism, accountability, leadership and operational effectiveness.

Mohammed said the effectiveness of the FRSC depended not only on patrol vehicles, technology and enforcement mechanisms but also on the quality, discipline and commitment of its personnel.
He congratulated the beneficiaries and charged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Corps, the Federal Government and the Nigerian people.
The Corps Marshal also urged the promoted officers and marshals to maintain discipline both on and off duty, treat members of the public with dignity, uphold the integrity of the Corps and remain committed to the enforcement of road safety standards.
He stressed that promotion should remain an important instrument for building a professional, responsive and performance-driven institution capable of addressing the evolving challenges of road safety management in Nigeria.
The promotion comes as the FRSC intensifies its operational, technological and public enlightenment initiatives aimed at reducing road traffic crashes and improving compliance with traffic regulations nationwide.
The Corps said a motivated and professionally developed workforce remained critical to sustaining these interventions and achieving measurable improvements in road safety outcomes.
The newly promoted personnel are therefore expected to assume their responsibilities with renewed commitment and contribute meaningfully to the Corps’ mandate of protecting lives and property on Nigerian roads.
The FRSC congratulated all the promoted officers and marshals and wished them success as they take on their new responsibilities in service to the nation.
