Eid-el-Maulud: Tinubu Urges Muslims to Emulate Prophet Muhammad’s Virtues
President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud celebration, urging them to draw inspiration from the teachings and exemplary character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The President’s message was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled, “Eid-el-Maulud: Tinubu Urges Muslims to Imbibe Virtues of Prophet Muhammad.”
Tinubu urged Muslims to look beyond the commemoration of the Prophet’s birth and use the occasion for introspection, prayer and reflection on his enduring values.
“The Muslim faithful should make a deliberate effort to adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad,” the President said.

He identified devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness as some of the virtues demonstrated by the Prophet that remain relevant to contemporary society.
“There are great lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness that we can all learn from the life of the Prophet,” Tinubu said.
The President also called on Islamic scholars and religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for the nation and encourage their followers to translate the lessons of Prophet Muhammad’s life into greater commitment to national unity, peace and development.
He urged Muslims celebrating the Maulud to extend support and compassion to the less privileged, particularly the needy and vulnerable, in keeping with the spirit of the occasion.
Tinubu further called for prayers for an end to insecurity and other challenges affecting communities across the country, urging Nigerians to remain committed to peace, unity and peaceful coexistence.
