Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralised a key lieutenant of a notorious terrorist leader and recovered three machine guns during an offensive operation in Katsina State.
The operation was conducted on Saturday, August 29, 2026, as troops of Sector 2 carried out clearance operations in identified terrorist enclaves in Matazu Local Government Area of the state.
According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, the troops encountered stiff resistance from armed terrorists during the operation.
