Troops Kill Terrorist, Recover Four Motorcycles, Other Logistics in Katsina
Troops of Sector 1, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralised a terrorist and recovered four motorcycles and other items during a dawn offensive operation in Dan Musa Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The operation was conducted on September 4, 2026, following credible intelligence on the presence of terrorists around Yantumaki Forest.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, said the troops launched a coordinated offensive against the terrorists and engaged them with maximum firepower.
According to him, the intense engagement forced the terrorists to flee into the surrounding bushes.

“During exploitation of the area, troops confirmed the neutralisation of one terrorist and recovered four motorcycles, one mobile phone and five empty intravenous drip containers,” the statement said.
The military suspected that the drip containers may have been used in treating wounded terrorists.
The latest operation, the task force said, underscored the commitment of Operation FANSAN YAMMA to sustaining pressure on terrorist networks, degrading their operational capabilities and denying them freedom of action across its Joint Operations Area.
The task force also urged members of the public to continue providing security agencies with credible and timely information to support ongoing efforts to eradicate terrorist elements within the Joint Operations Area.
