Troops Nab 4 Suspected Terrorist Collaborators in Monguno
Troops of Headquarters Sector 3, Operation Hadin Kai, have arrested four suspects, including a suspected terrorist tax collector and three alleged collaborators, during a security operation in Monguno Local Government Area of Borno State.
The arrests were made at about 6:48 a.m. on August 30, 2026, during the second day of a three-day operation aimed at identifying and apprehending suspected terrorists and their collaborators within the sector’s area of responsibility.
Security sources disclosed that the troops, acting on credible intelligence and information provided by surrendered terrorists, were deployed to strategic entry and exit points around Monguno town to prevent the movement of suspected terrorists and their associates.

The operation led to the arrest of four suspects comprising one alleged tax collector and three other suspected collaborators.
Items recovered from the suspects included a wristwatch, a chemical locally identified as “Lamb Dashi,” a sack of beans, assorted drugs, including antibiotics, an Infinix mobile phone and ₦104,350 in cash.
The suspects and recovered items have been taken into custody at Headquarters Sector 3 for further investigation and necessary action.
The second day of the operation ended at about 7:05 p.m., while the three-day operation remained ongoing as of the time of filing the report, with further developments expected.
Security sources said the general situation across the North-East theatre remained calm but unpredictable, while troops maintained high morale and satisfactory operational effectiveness.
