Troops Bust Terrorist Logistics Route, Recover 4 Motorcycles, 15 Jerrycans of Petrol in Katsina
Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North-West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics supplier and recovered four brand-new motorcycles and 15 jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in Katsina State.
The operation, according to a military statement, was conducted as part of ongoing efforts to disrupt the logistics networks supporting terrorist and other armed groups operating across the North-West.
The troops, acting on actionable intelligence, reportedly carried out a targeted stop-and-search operation along the Gurbi–Zurmi transit corridor, a route linking Katsina and Zamfara states.
During the operation, the soldiers intercepted a commercial utility truck allegedly attempting to evade established security protocols.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of four brand-new motorcycles concealed in sealed packages, reportedly in an attempt to prevent their detection.
The troops also recovered 15 30-litre jerrycans containing PMS, which had allegedly been concealed among containers of vegetable and palm oil to disguise the fuel consignment.
The driver and primary suspect, identified as Mallam Abbas Umoru, was arrested and taken into military custody.
According to the statement, preliminary investigations indicated that the recovered items were allegedly destined for terrorist enclaves operating within the border areas of Katsina and Zamfara states.
The military described the interception as a significant disruption to the logistics chain of terrorist groups that rely on motorcycles for mobility and fuel supplies to sustain their operations.
The suspect and recovered items remain in military custody as investigations continue to establish the wider network allegedly involved in the supply chain and identify other associates.
