PHOTOS: US Delivers New Military Equipment to Nigeria for Counter-Terrorism
The United States has delivered military equipment to the Nigerian Air Force as part of efforts to bolster Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and strengthen regional security.
The equipment was flown into Nigeria by a U.S. Air Force C-17 aircraft
over the weekend under a Foreign Military Sales agreement, according to the U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM).
AFRICOM disclosed the delivery in a post on X on Thursday, describing it as “partnership in action” between the United States and Nigeria.

The command said the equipment would support Nigeria’s efforts to counter terrorism in the region, further deepening defence cooperation between both countries.
The latest delivery comes amid growing U.S.-Nigeria security cooperation covering areas including intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism, military training and defence support.
AFRICOM said the delivery demonstrated the two countries’ commitment to strengthening their partnership in confronting regional security threats.
