Troops Nab 3 Suspected Drug Peddlers, Seize 92 Parcels of ‘Colos’ in Borno
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested three suspected drug peddlers and recovered 92 parcels of suspected Colorado, a strain of cannabis, concealed inside cartons of television sets along the Maiduguri–Mafa road in Borno State.
The suspects were arrested on September 9 by troops of 195 Battalion deployed along the route as part of operations to disrupt the movement of logistics and other materials supporting criminal activities in the North-East.
The suspects were identified as Haruna A. Usman, 39; Mohammed Haruna, 40; and Dauda Ali, 40.
They were intercepted while travelling in a Mitsubishi Fuso Canter truck with registration number Lagos AGL 199 XF.

According to a military situation report obtained by security analyst Zagazola Makama, the vehicle was conveying five cartons containing LG television sets, which were allegedly used to conceal the suspected illicit drugs.
Preliminary interrogation revealed that the vehicle had been loaded at Babbanlayi by Mohammed Haruna, who reportedly told troops that the consignment belonged to Haruna A. Usman.
Following the disclosure, troops tracked and arrested Usman in connection with the suspected drug consignment.
Five mobile phones were also recovered from the suspects.
The suspects, vehicle and recovered exhibits are expected to be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The operation is part of sustained efforts by troops under Operation Hadin Kai and Operation Desert Sanity V to disrupt criminal logistics networks and other activities contributing to insecurity across the North-East.
The military said troops remain operationally ready and continue to sustain pressure on criminal elements across the theatre.
