NAF, Navy Deepen Logistics Cooperation for Enhanced Operational Effectiveness
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening inter-Service cooperation and enhancing joint operational effectiveness through its participation in the Nigerian Navy 2026 Logistics Seminar in Kano State.
The two-day seminar, held from September 16 to 17, 2026, at the Nigerian Navy Logistics College, Dawakin Tofa, Kano State, was themed “Repositioning the Nigerian Navy Logistics System for Enhanced Operational Effectiveness.”
The seminar provided a platform for senior military officers and logistics professionals to exchange expertise, share best practices and explore strategies for improving logistics systems in support of operational effectiveness.
Representing the NAF, the Chief of Logistics, Air Vice Marshal Henry Yurkusi, presented a paper titled “Defence Equipment Acquisition Strategies as Applicable to the Defence Sector” during the second strategy session on equipment acquisition and operational effectiveness.

Similarly, the Commandant of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Air Vice Marshal Adeniran Ademuwagun, contributed a paper titled “Optimizing Inventory Management with Digital Procurement Practices.” The paper was delivered on his behalf by Air Commodore M.S. Lawal, mni, during the fourth strategy session, which focused on leveraging technology-driven procurement for effective service provision and operational efficiency.
The NAF said its participation underscored the importance of jointness, knowledge sharing and technology-driven logistics in strengthening operational readiness across the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
The Service also highlighted the role of effective defence procurement and modern inventory management in improving resource utilisation, sustaining equipment availability and enhancing the collective combat capability of the military.
The seminar further reinforced the need for stronger inter-Service collaboration in logistics planning and management as the Armed Forces continue to pursue improved operational efficiency and readiness.
