OPHK Troops Arrest 5 Suspected Terrorists, Recover Cash in Adamawa, Yobe
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), in separate operations across Adamawa and Yobe states, have arrested five suspected terrorists, including a suspected member of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), while recovering cash and other items.
In Adamawa State, troops of Sector 4, OPHK, working with Rangers and Hybrid Forces, arrested four suspected members of a terrorist group during a fighting patrol in Hong Local Government Area.
The operation, conducted at about 9:30 a.m. on September 29, covered Guyeku, Amtasa, Mubang, Zahr and Washim villages in the area.
The suspects were apprehended during the patrol and taken into custody for preliminary investigation and further action.
In a separate operation in Yobe State, troops of 233 Tank Battalion, Forward Operating Base Babbangida, Sector 3, OPHK, arrested a suspected ISWAP member at Babbangida in Tarmuwa Local Government Area.

The suspect was apprehended at about 12:30 p.m. on September 29, following intelligence-led security operations in the area.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect claimed to be an Islamic cleric operating in the Sahara area of the North-East of Niger Republic.
According to security sources, the suspect reportedly travelled by truck from the Zarmadu-Sahara general area of Niger Republic into Nigeria and disembarked at Bayamari, before proceeding in a commercial vehicle to Shuari Madinatu in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, Borno State.
Troops recovered a mobile phone, prayer mat, blanket, jacket, slate, detergent and ₦396,200 in cash from the suspect.
The five suspects and recovered items have remained in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
The operations are part of ongoing efforts by OPHK to dominate the operational environment, disrupt terrorist networks and activities, and strengthen security around vulnerable communities across the North-East.
