The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has called on the Kano State Government to participate actively in the forthcoming World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), scheduled to hold in Abuja in November 2026.
Chairman of Image Merchants Promotion Limited (IMPR) and ranking Fellow of the NIPR, Professor Sule Ya’u Sule, made the call when he led a delegation of public relations practitioners on a visit to the Kano State Government House.
The visit followed a road walk organised as part of activities to create awareness and mobilise stakeholders ahead of the international public relations gathering.
Sule, a senior communication lecturer at Bayero University Kano, said the delegation was at the Government House to formally brief Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on the forthcoming forum and its objectives.
He explained that the 2026 WPRF would provide practitioners, policymakers and other stakeholders an opportunity to review and re-examine the concept and practice of public relations in the face of emerging technologies, evolving professional trends and a rapidly changing communication environment.
Sule urged the state government to support the participation of Kano public relations practitioners at the forum, stressing the importance of exposing professionals in the state to global conversations shaping the future of strategic communication.
Also speaking, Chairman of the Kano State Council of NIPR, Malam Aliyu Yusuf, commended Governor Yusuf for his support for public relations and media practitioners in the state.
