Ogun I Customs Records ₦896.5m Revenue, N14.75bn Seizure in Eight Months
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun I Area Command, collected ₦896.54 million in revenue between January and August 2026, surpassing its target of ₦544.35 million by more than ₦352 million.
The revenue performance was disclosed by the outgoing Acting Customs Area Controller of the Command, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Oladapo Afeni, during a handing-over ceremony held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in Idiroko, Ogun State.
Afeni, who handed over the leadership of the Command to Deputy Comptroller Abdulhamid Ibrahim, attributed the revenue performance to operational strategies, intelligence-led enforcement, transparency and collaboration with sister security agencies.
He also disclosed that the Command recorded 327 seizures between December 4, 2025 and September 29, 2026, with a combined Duty Paid Value (DPV) of ₦14.75 billion.

Afeni said the achievements reflected the commitment of officers and the cooperation of relevant stakeholders in strengthening customs operations and border management within the command’s area of responsibility.
Taking over as Acting Customs Area Controller, DC Ibrahim commended Afeni for the achievements recorded during his tenure, describing them as a solid foundation for further progress by the Command.
Ibrahim called for greater commitment, mutual trust, ethical conduct and teamwork among officers and stakeholders, pledging to sustain operational efficiency and improve service delivery.
“Our collective success depends on commitment, mutual trust, adherence to ethical standards, teamwork and dedication to excellence,” he said.
He also solicited the continued cooperation of stakeholders to strengthen enforcement activities and improve border management.
The ceremony was attended by members of the Border Security Forum, traditional rulers, representatives of sister security agencies and other stakeholders.
The stakeholders pledged their support to the new leadership, with Ibrahim stressing that sustained collaboration would be critical to consolidating the Command’s achievements and enhancing security and legitimate trade along the border.
