The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has commended the Nasarawa State Government for supporting the Nigerian Army’s expansion from eight to 12 divisions, saying the collaboration will strengthen operational readiness and improve responses to security threats.
Shaibu gave the commendation on Friday during a visit to Governor Abdullahi Sule at Government House, Lafia, according to a statement issued by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele.
The Army Chief said the state government’s support, including the provision of critical facilities, had created an enabling environment for the effective take-off and operation of the new formations.
