IGP Deploys New PROs to Benue, Yobe, Police Academy, Others
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the deployment of new Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and Public Relations Liaison Officers to selected commands and formations of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
The postings are aimed at strengthening strategic communication, improving public access to credible police information and enhancing engagement with the media and other stakeholders.
In a statement issued on Friday, October 9, 2026, the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, said the appointments covered police zonal commands, state commands and specialised institutions.
According to the statement, SP Johnson A. Doghudje has been posted as the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 5, while SP Ojedele Olanrewaju Tunji has been assigned to Zone 11, Osogbo.
Also, DSP Orchia Adndongu has been posted to the Benue State Police Command, while DSP Imah Unwana Victor will serve as the PPRO of the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC).
Other officers affected by the postings include ASP Abdulaziz Maharazu, assigned to the Police Academy (POLAC), and ASP Yusuf Adamu Aliyu, posted to the Yobe State Police Command.
Similarly, ASP Haruna Rashid Umar Abdullahi has been appointed Public Relations Liaison Officer for the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Gombe State.

The IGP charged the officers to maintain professionalism, responsiveness and accuracy in carrying out their responsibilities, particularly in the timely dissemination of verified information.
He also urged them to sustain constructive engagement with the media and members of the public as part of efforts to promote transparency and strengthen public confidence in policing.
The police encouraged journalists and members of the public to contact the newly posted officers for verified information and enquiries regarding police activities within their respective areas of responsibility.
The Force reiterated its commitment to improving public communication, transparency and stakeholder engagement as essential components of effective, people-centred policing.
