Kano Police Arrest Suspected Bandit, Recover AK-47 in Falgore Forest
The Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspected bandit and recovered an AK-47 rifle with 18 rounds of live ammunition during a follow-up operation in Falgore Forest, Doguwa Local Government Area.
The arrest followed an earlier operation in which police reportedly neutralised two suspected bandits, recovered ₦10 million in ransom and rescued a kidnapped victim.
In a statement issued on Monday, October 19, 2026, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said operatives attached to Doguwa Division, working with local hunters known as ‘Yan Bula’, conducted an intensive search of the forest and surrounding areas on October 18.
The operation, which commenced at about 6:30 a.m., was aimed at apprehending fleeing suspects and recovering weapons linked to the kidnapping incident.
The police identified the arrested suspect as Ibrahim Rabiu, a resident of Yardoka Village in Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State. He was arrested in connection with the abduction of Alhaji Kabiru Aliyu of Falgore Village, Doguwa LGA.
