Navy, Army Kill 34 Terrorists in Fresh Lake Chad Operations
The Nigerian Navy Marines and the Nigerian Army have killed 34 Boko Haram terrorists in two offensive operations around the Lake Chad area under Operation HADIN KAI.
The operations, conducted on October 28 and 30, targeted terrorist positions and an enclave in the area, with the latest strike carried out at Dumba following intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
The Nigerian Navy disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday by its Director of Naval Information, Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho.
According to the statement, the Navy Marines operating from the Naval Base Lake Chad, in conjunction with the Army’s 403 Amphibious Brigade, recorded the gains through sustained, intelligence-driven operations against Boko Haram elements.
The Navy said the first operation, conducted on October 28, initially resulted in reports of eight terrorists killed. However, a subsequent Battle Damage Assessment revised the casualty figure to 28.

In a separate operation on October 30, naval personnel launched a precision strike against an identified Boko Haram enclave at Dumba.
The operation followed intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions that enabled troops to identify and monitor terrorist elements before launching the strike.
Preliminary assessments indicated that approximately six terrorists were killed, while several others sustained injuries. The Navy said the casualty figures remained subject to further verification as operational assessments continued.
The two operations brought the reported number of terrorists killed to 34.
The Navy described its Marines, recently deployed to the Lake Chad area, as a force multiplier under Operation HADIN KAI, strengthening joint military efforts to target terrorist enclaves and disrupt hostile activities.
It said their operations had enhanced the military’s capacity to deny Boko Haram fighters freedom of action and degrade their operational capabilities in the North-East.
The Navy reaffirmed its commitment to intelligence-led operations and sustained offensive action in collaboration with other military services to improve security and protect vulnerable communities in the region.
