Odumosu Assumes Office at FCT NSCDC Command, Unveils Leadership Agenda

The new Commandant,
Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Sector Command, Olusola Odumosu, has warned manholes and other national assets’ vandals operating in the FCT to quit their activities or incur the wrath of the Corp.

He spoke while taking over from the outgoing FCT NSCDC Commandant, Peter Maigari, at the Command’s Headquarters in Abuja.

PRNigeria reports that  Maigari was nominated to proceed on a strategic course at the National Security Institute for the next one year.

Odumosu, a former Public Relations Officer of the Corp, expressed his determination and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s vital infrastructure.

In his taking-over speech, while addressing the personnel of the corp, he said, “We will not falter in our pursuit. We must recalibrate our perspectives, guided by a leadership that fosters inclusivity and understanding. I want you to know that ‘Failure is not an option’.

“I urge all personnel to remain steadfast in fulfilling our mandates as proud representatives of the NSCDC.”

He declared an unrelenting battle against infrastructure theft, a menace that has plagued the nation’s capital for far too long.

“Consider this as the declaration of war against those who seek to undermine our nation’s progress through wanton destruction and theft. We shall combat this menace head-on,” Commandant Odumosu asserted.

While instilling a sense of discipline and responsibility in his high agenda.

He emphasized, “Discipline is the bedrock of our service. We must reinforce it at every level within the FCT Command. Our conduct must be a testament to the principles we stand for.”

“There is need for the FCT Command to embrace innovation and creativity, welcoming fresh ideas that can contribute to the advancement of the NSCDC.

“My doors are open for innovative ideas that will propel the Corps to new heights. Let us all work together to drive positive change”, he added.

Earlier, In a valedictory speech, the outgoing Commandant, Commandant Peter Maigari congratulated his successor for assuming the mantle of leadership.

He implored all corp personnel of the FCT Command to extend their unwavering support to Commandant Odumosu in his quest to accomplish his agenda.

“I am confident that I am leaving you in capable hands. Let us stand united, devoid of any divisive bike-biting aimed at favoritism among colleagues. Our mission is one, and our cooperation is vital for success,” Maigari emphasized.

“I know as the FCT command navigates the challenges of safeguarding its infrastructure and preserving its national assets, the appointment of Commandant Olusola Odumosu will bring a renewed sense of purpose and determination to the NSCDC FCT Command”, he said.
