In a statement issued on Monday, Dalung condemned the unwarranted attacks that left 20 people dead and several others injured.
“This is a sad period in our as a state. The act is unwarranted and condemnable especially now that we thought that reprisal and religious attacks have been curtailed .”
Dalung who contested the All Progressive Congress Gubernatorial primaries during the 2015 General Elections wondered why some satanic elements would derive joy in wrecking havoc and wanton destruction of human lives.
He advised all indigenes and non-indigenes of Plateau state to shun violence which has continued to affect the economic fortunes of the once peaceful state.
“It is very painful and sad to now refer to our beloved state as one of the most volatile states in Nigeria. I could remember when we saw the next man as a member of one big family.
We did things together as one which encouraged many people including foreigners to want to settle down in our state. No wonder, expatriates were delighted to come to our cities for business and pleasure.”
While commiserating with the families of the deceased who were brutally murdered, he prayed God to grant the souls of the reposed, perfect peace.
Barrister Dalung also called on the Nigeria Police Force to double their efforts in ensuring that the culprits are brought to book to serve as deterrent to others who may be planning to foment trouble in future.
