2018 JAMB Registration Commences November 22, 2017
… as Registrar Cautions Against Extortion of Candidates
The 2018 Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination registration into various institutions is to commence on the 22nd of November and end by January 22 2018. It will span a period of two months as against one month of the 2017 exercise while the examination would take place between 9th to 17th of March 2018.
The Registrar of the JAMB, Professor Isiaq Oloyede revealed this at a stakeholder meeting held in Abuja. He stressed that the critical stakeholders meeting was convened to seek and incorporate all shades of opinion to add value to the board’s plan and programme.
He maintained that all logistics have been put in place and that management would strictly  adhere to the sales period.
“We advise all critical stakeholders to cooperate, collaborate, support and assist the board in that direction. We also advise philanthropists who plan to purchase and distribute application documents to do so with the time schedule of the board.”
Professor Oloyede who also called for the support of all stakeholders in the education sector for the success of the exam also cautioned particularly cyber operators to desist from extorting intending candidates for the fourthcoming exam as he tasked them to make positive contributions that would assist the board.
He said the board has done everything possible to ensure smooth exercise for the sale of application documents, conduct of mock exam and the examination proper.
He said “at the end of this meeting, it would be appreciated if you would become our ambassador and the face and voice of JAMB anywhere you are in the public on enlightenment particularly area of elimination of corrupt practices in the registration and examination so as to help in the refocussing and re-engineering our processes in pursuance of the realization of the boards main objectives”.
In their separate remarks, some members of National Assembly Committee on Education commended the board for putting in place, proactive measures in ensuring high standard of education in the country. They however charged the board to sustain the tempo in order to ensure good standard of education in the country.
Stakeholders at the meeting also outlined some steps that the board need to take in order to sustain the tempo and put in more efforts to ensure success, as service providers assured their readiness for the forthcoming exam.
