Delegates Brainstorm on 26 Memoranda at NCE’s Meeting in Bauchi

 

The 45th Meeting of the National Council on Establishment (NCE) kicks off today, Monday, December 11, 2023 in Bauchi State, the “Pearl of Tourism.” The event started with a courtesy visit to the Head of Service, Bauchi State, Alh. Yahuza Adamu by Delegates of the NCE led by the Permanent Secretary, Service Policies and Strategies Office (SPSO), Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), Tpl. Olufemi Micheal Oloruntola.

The Head of Service, while welcoming participants described the 45th Meeting of the National Council on Establishments as historic and unique, being the first time the state is hosting since its creation. He assured delegates of a serene and safe environment for robust discussions, also urging them to take home some of the beautiful cultures of the state to their respective states with a view to changing the negative narrative on security, insisting that Bauchi state is a peaceful and hospitable place.

Afterwards, the Technical Session made up of the Permanent Secretaries and Directors in charge of Establishments and related matters from all the 36 states of the Federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) commenced with the Permanent Secretary, SPSO-OHCSF as Chairman. The Session will be discussing the various memoranda received, pending the arrival of the Council Members on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 for the second and final session of the 45th NCE, where final decisions on the considered memoranda will be taken. Twenty-Six (26) memoranda are before the Delegates for discussion and presentation to the Members of the Council. Members of the Council are made up of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan and Heads of Service from the 36 states of the Federation, as well as the Permanent Secretary of the FCT.

This year’s Meeting promises to be special as it will be the first to be organised in the dispensation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present Administration of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. It is slated to end on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 with a Gala Night.
