Ministry of Labour Improves Capacity of Staff
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, Bolaji Adebiyi today expressed his commitment to ensuring that planning and administrative officers in the Ministry acquire versatile skills needed in enhancing project and programme execution and for efficient service delivery.
The Permanent Secretary, made this assertion today while declaring open a-one day retreat on Monitoring and Evaluation/key Performance Indicators organized for the staff of the Department of Policy Analysis, Research and Statistics.
Bolaji Adebiyi, who was represented at the workshop by the Director, Human Resources Management, Mr. Ajibola Ibrahim said “in line with the Change Agenda of the current government and the strict measure of project performance put in place by this administration, the Ministry put together this workshop to acquint staff with relevant skills in project assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of key performance indicator.”
Speaking further, He emphasized that the Key Performance Indicator scorecard is a measurable value that demonstrates how effectively the Ministry is achieving key activities and also set of quantifiable measures that will be used to gauge and compare performance in term of meeting the strategic and operational goals of the Ministry and its Agencies.
He added that the Monitoring and Evaluation (ME) aspect of the retreat is to impact staff with the knowledge of M and E template designed by the Ministry of Budget and National Planning covering all departments and Agencies capital project.
Speaking earlier, the Director, Policy Analysis Research and Statistics, Mrs. Sarah Alexandra urges staff to avail themselves of the golden opportunity provided by the training to acquire relevant skills necessary for improvement in project and programmme evaluation for enhanced service delivery.
