Plateau CJ Releases 22 Prison Inmates
The Acting Chief Judge of Plateau State Justice Yakubu Gyang Dakwat has released 22 inmates across Prisons formations in the State. The release was done during a visit by the State Criminal Justice Administration Committee to Prisons formations in Plateau State.
The visits which lasted between 1st and 8th January 2018, is aimed at finding out the state of jail conditions and to look into the cases of awaiting trial persons with a view to decongest the Prisons.
The Committee was impressed with the improvement in jail conditions in the State with specifics to inmates feeding, medical services, reformatory activities, improved state of the facilities and the Prison reward system. The Service was urged not to relent in its effort until global standards is attained.

The Acting Chief Judge also granted bail to 20 inmates. The Transition Committee Chairmen assured the Service of their readiness to pay fines of inmates recommended by the Service, in order to secure their release.
The Service commends the Criminal Justice Administration Committee for maintaining her position as one of the best Criminal Justice Administration system in Nigeria through speedy dispensation of justice, evident in the disposition of inmates across Prisons Facilities in the State.
